| Ayu's boyfriend likely became reluctant to commit to a serious relationship with a woman in her thirties who wanted to get married. In the end, he broke up with Ayu after a year of dating. Ayu confided only in Taka about the breakup. Since then, Taka felt the distance between himself and Ayu rapidly shrinking. Even though she had supposedly had two boyfriends in the past, for some reason, he couldn't shake the feeling that she was a virgin. He desperately fought back the urge to be the one to introduce her to the pleasures of womanhood. Ayu was already close with Taka’s family—often going out to lunch together on days off—but their bond grew even stronger. Taka’s wife, the youngest of three sisters, perhaps longed for a younger sister of her own; she came to regard Ayu like a real sister and began inviting her over for drinks at their home. One day, after having some drinks, Ayu ended up staying the night at Taka’s house. | ||||||
