Sadly, the age we live in now is not so progressive as we once were. When I first left university and started my career job, back in the 70s, operating a computer (about the size of a Wurlitzer organ) was the role of a specialist technical team, which included a couple of bouncy, bonnie young women who always came to work in near-transparent shirts and no bra - just like this photo. Every day the older woman who managed the team would move the operators around to new backroom desks, to foil the constant stream of young management trainee men from other departments, clamouring to see how these new-fangled computer systems worked: well, that's what we [sorry I mean "They"] all said...
