Membership
- How do I register?
Visit the registration page.
Fill out the required information, you should then receive a welcome email. This email will
contain your password and details of your account.
Please check your email box before submitting the request.
The system reports that a number of emails are undelivered due to the recipients' email boxes are full.
In general, you will receive your login information within a few minutes.
However, different mail servers perform vary based on the response. Some are faster and some are slower.
If you couldn't get the mail over twelve hours (oops!), please e-mail Us instead.
- How do I login to my account?
You will need to click the login link located on the main index page. Enter your user name and password then click "submit". Remember that your passwords are case sensitive. Example is that "PASSWORD" is different than "password". You should now be logged in and have the ability to submit pics or comment on other photos. You will remain logged in to your account until you click a logout link.
- How do I change my password?
You will need to click this change password link. This link can also be accessed from your profile page. You will need to enter your old password in order to have it changed."
- What if I forgot my password?
You will need to click this forgot password link. You will need to enter the email address you submitted when you created your account. Our web site will then send an automated email to this email address that contains a "reset link". Click on this reset link or copy and past it into your web browser. You will then receive another automated email with a temporary password. Login with your username and temporary password. You will then want to change your password from the temporary password issued by the server to something you can remeber. This procedure is listed in the previous paragraph.
- How can I change the information listed in my profile?
You will need to click the edit profile link. You can then modify, add, or change any of the information listed in your profile.

Login Problems
- I receive a "You must be a registered user" error message even after I logged in.
This is caused by a cookie problem on your computer. When you login to our web site a cookie (small text file) is written to your computer. This cookie is used to let our web site know that you are logged in and allows access to the members only features ( posting, rating photos, posting comments ). Either your web browser is set to deny cookies or you have some other software running ( Anti Virus, Firewalls, Proxy Software ) which is preventing the cookie from being written. Look below for steps to enable cookies on common web browsers and other software.
- How do I enable cookies on Internet Explorer 6.0
- Open Internet Explorer
- Click Tools->Internet Options... The Internet Opttions Window will appear.
- Click on the Privacy tab near the top of the window.
- Set the slider to "Medium."
- Click OK.
- How do I enable cookies on Internet Explorer 5.5 and lower
- Click Tools->Internet Options... The Internet Opttions Window will appear.
- Click on the Security tab near the top of the window.
- Select Microsoft's Low, Medium-low, or Medium security level.
- Or click on Custom Level, scroll down to Cookies, verify "Enable Cookies" should be seletcted.
- Click OK.

Photo Viewing Problems
- Why do I see broken images or X's where the images should be??
Our web site uses image protection using the page referrer variable. Normally, this information is sent from your web browser. Some software can prevent this information from being sent, the most common software in this category are Firewalls. Below you will find ways to enable the referrer variable to be sent normally which will enable you to view the images.
- How to enable referrer information in Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall 2003
- Open your Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall 2003.
- Click Options.
- Click Internet Security (or Personal Firewall).
- Click the Web Content tab.
- Click Add Site.
A new site/domain box appears.
- Enter amateuralbum.net and click OK.
That site name appears in the left frame of the Options window.
- Click the amateuralbum.net name you just added.
- Click the Global Settings tab.
In the "Information about visited sites" section, uncheck "Use default settings.".
- Click Permit
- Click OK to close the Options window.
- How to enable referrer information in Norton Internet Security, Norton Personal Firewall or Symantec Desktop Firewall 2002
- Open your Norton/Symantec security program.
- Click Options.
- Click Internet Security (or Personal Firewall).
- Click Advanced Options.
- Click the Web tab.
- Click Add Site. A new site or domain box appears.
- Enter amateuralbum.net and click OK.
That site name appears in the left frame of the Advanced Options window.
- Click the amateuralbum.net name you just added.
- Click the Privacy tab.
- Check the "Use these rules for..." box.
- Change the Referer from "Block" to "Permit."
- Click Apply, and then click OK.
- Click OK to close the Options window.

- Open Opera.
- Click File.
- Click Preferences.
- Click Privacey.
- Verify that Referrer Logging is enabled.
